Trying out various new things with this card. Had fun doing it.
Something New
The new stuff is as follows, 3D Embossing folder by Crafters Companion, Embossing powder from Ranger and a new Stamp set by Unity Stamp Company won in a recent challenge. Started off by stamping the images onto white cs in Versamark and then heat embossing in Gold. Added a bit of colour using Sakura pens. I had a very thin gold frame left from a project and decided to use it here. Cut the white card down to the size I wanted. My Christmas gift from Hubby was a Gemini, but it initially didn’t work due to a faulty switch. Managed to get it changed this morning so just had to try it out. Folder came with the machine so I embossed the card front and added a swipe of versamark and my new powder called Lemon Drop which I heat set. Added the image panel and a die cut word on top. The embossing powder has a lovely shimmer to it.

Well are you not just having all kinds of fun. What a great present and especially that it works. All that gold and it still needed the shimmer of your embossing powder.

The new machine is great now it works. So easy on my hands. Hubby was disappointed that it wouldn’t work on Xmas day but I didn’t mind waiting to change it.

Yes I really wanted bright and cheerful as the day is so gray and dreary. Having the Gemini is so easy on my hands so I’m grateful for it.

Lovely cheery card. It’s always fun to use new things. Glad you got your Gemini changed out. It is really a game changer when it comes to die cutting.

So much new and all together a whole lot of beautiful. That embossing powder looks fun. That’s an adorable image piece, too. It’s always fun trying out new things, you let that fun shine through in what you created.

Thanks Gayle – I used the same folder again and made a slightly different sandwich. The texture it gave is amazing but I haven’t done anything with the panel as yet. I realized that the embossing on this one isn’t even close to what it should be but it is okay as it is the background of everything else.

I think Tim Holtz suggests spraying the cardstock lightly with water when using the new 3D embossing folders.
