One thing is certain, I am no water colourist and am now considering finding someone to teach me. That said this card isn’t a total dud and may grow on me.
Stamp Act
I started by stamping the rising bubbles, by Designs by Ryn, with Amalgam Ink. On a separate piece I also stamped the Seahorse from a Gina K Designs stamp set. Added a few seaweed images with Distress oxides after I had used water colours to try to get a watery look. It looked awful but I refused to throw it away so ended up using a curved die to cut it down to what you see. This was much better so I adhered to a card front and then stamped the sentiment. I fussy cut the seahorse and popped him up. Sentiment from same set.

Your being too hard on yourself. Your background does look watery. Great job on the bubbles. I’m not into watercolor myself, but I do enjoy seeing watercolored images by others.

Thanks Judy – It looks better to me today than yesterday but I sure could use a few lessons. Will look into this once I’m back from Europe. Going to visit my sister soon.

You are right Gerry. I tell others that and forget to tell myself. That said I do like it much better today and curving the side made a big difference.

Johanna, this is beautiful! The best part about water colored pieces is that even if you hate it, it usually looks better when you come back to it and you can use it in background pieces, where it adds a lot but isn’t the focus. (Inside shakers, behind other pieces, inlaid in pieces, etc.)

Without this group leaving positivity on a regular basis, I’m not sure where I would be. Thanks Golda and the piece I cut off will probably get used exactly as you mention.

Thanks Gayle – I am liking it much better today and must remember to wait before I say I don’t like something. Very often when I look several hours later I realize it isn’t that bad.

I think your watercolored background is very pretty with wonderful colors! The wavy shape adds to a watery look! I think the best way to learn is to keep trying. Every time you watercolor something, you will learn something new. Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!

It was a good challenge for me as I don’t water colour very often although I am getting better at it each time. Lessons are in order though as I’m sure my confidence level will increase if I get some guidance. Thanks for commenting – its appreciated.
