Windmill Greetings

Using my new stamp from a craft store in Holland, I created this card. I think it fits the Just Add Ink challenge so I am entering it for that.

#497

A while ago I deconstructed a store bought card that my hubby received because I like the striped background. Using a stitched frame die I cut the two pieces and adhered them to a card front. I stamped the windmill, coloured it very lightly and fussy cut it out. Popped it up on top and added a SSS smile die cut to the top portion. It still needed something so I added the clogs, also fussy cut and a small flower sticker to the side.

  1. So glad you saved that striped background. It’s a fitting backdrop for the windmill and clogs. I really need to invest in those stitched dies. Another great card, Johanna.

  2. Thanks – the dies are an unbranded set I got a while ago. Don’t do that anymore, but they were a lot less expensive for sure.

  3. Thanks Bonnie – trip details are in process but not quite finished. Was planning on mailing them along with something else I’ve made for everyone. Will let you know when I actually get them into snail mail.

    1. Thanks Golda. I liked the stripes so much that it would have been criminal to just toss the card into recycling.

  4. Lovely card! So fun that you deconstructed a card and used the pieces. How wonderful to have found crafty items on your trip. Windmills are beautiful in life as well as your stamp.

    1. Thanks Lisa – I often deconstruct store bought cards and I save any bling from them too. I think that is why I can often salvage a poor effort of my own.

  5. Super card. It’s always nice when you can save something from a store bought card to create something handmade. I like the windmill and the clogs. Very well done.

  6. Thanks so much Judy. I really like that new stamp and it comes with a border to make it look like a tile. I haven’t inked that part as yet.
