Smile Hugs

I have no banner stamps at all so I have handmade a few so I could enter this challenge at Double D.

Banners Challenge

I vaguely remembered someone using washi tape to make some banners so decided to give it a try. After getting a bit of twine I folded different types of washi tape over it and then cut them into the shape. Managed to cut the twine in the wrong place but on the smaller bit it was just enough to add to here. Using another of my recent watercolour pieces I stenciled in the sun shape and added the leftover die cut word. Added the Divinity Design image that I hand coloured with distress inks and gave dimension to by cutting several and gluing together. Sentiment is from same set. Still have some banners left over so may do something with those and enter again and I just found a napkin piece that I had glittered from a Christmas napkin so I am thinking of using those and doing an early Christmas card.

  1. Thanks Lisa – it was a bit fiddly but I got there in the end. I love these cute Divinity stamps and am really glad I bought this kit.

    1. Thanks a lot. Lost most of today so no cards done. My mobile was broken and my new one finally arrived. Took hours to set it up as the backup kept failing. I admire the technical support person because she was so patient and kept talking me through the process. Very frustrating but solved now thankfully.

  2. Thanks Golda. I had planned to make one today but that didn’t happen (see my comment to Judy). Can you believe that not only did I have a phone issue but we woke up this morning to our boiler (heats house) going on the blink. Thank goodness for a plumber who knows it and us very well so no issues in him coming to repair it. Just another annoyance on top of everything else. As we have had some snow again and the wind is cold and as our hot water supply is also dependent on the boiler we are very glad to have things back in order.

    1. Yikes! Glad you have things back in order and have heat. I’m a desert girl, born and raised, so I can’t imagine how cold it would be with snow and no heat. Hopefully you’ll have time to craft tomorrow.

  4. You rule, Johanna, your washi banner is very awesome. Glad your phone was replaced and is working and your boiler was repaired to. Snow, no thank you. We definitely don’t need that. My phone’s battery is going again. I have an older phone an IPhone 6 and replaced the battery last year and once we are out and about will have to think about a new phone or just another battery…hopefully just another battery. Love the background of your card and your banner.

  5. Thanks Gayle – I empathize about your phone, honestly when mine wasn’t working I think I had withdrawal symptoms. Mine works as my address book and diary besides most of my card photos are done on it. I was always backing up the broken one, but for some reason the last backup didn’t take so we had to go through whole process a couple of times. These days I need bigger screen so I liked my 8plus and was upset that they no longer produce it. XR is close in size and it is lighter in weight so this is what I now have. If you can afford it you might benefit from a new phone.
