Banner Sparkle

Banners Challenge

My second card for this challenge at Double D. Last month I was playing with the napkin technique and did several that I had on hand at the time. As you can see one of them related to Christmas, but it was a very busy piece so I glittered it and then cut out some of the images I liked. The challenge calls for banners and one of my bits was just that so I created a card around them. Dry embossed a snow fall on the white cs and added some shimmer on top. Glued to card front. Then I took a strip of red scrap and folded it then heat embossed some sentiments in gold. Sentiments are all from GKD sets. After fussy cutting the Xmas owls I added them to the folded piece and then to card front. Added the banners and the stockings as that bottom corner looked a little bare. It is funny to make a Christmas card before Easter.

  1. This is a fun Christmas card. I didn’t know the penguins are from a napkin. I have a similar stamp set. Love the banner running down the middle with the sentiments and the small banners for the added touch. Great card!

    1. Basically my first one made for this year. I have some glittered packages and one more owl to use when I’m in the mood to do another one. Glad you like it.

  2. using glitter this way makes for a lot of shine, but it is a messy technique and I end up wearing the glitter for weeks after. Not sure I’ll do the technique again because of the mess.

    1. Glitter drives me nuts. There is glitter on the rug in my son’s bathroom. I have no clue how it got there, but probably just got shifted around when I swept up the craft room, or got tracked through the house. It never seems to go away completely.
