Twinkle Twinkle …

PP567 – A Colour Challenge from Joanne

The striped bottom was glued to the black cs and sat on my desk for weeks until I decided what I wanted to do with it. The Paper Players challenge seemed the best way for me to get creative with it. I also had some paint chips sitting around as we had been choosing paint for a bathroom so using a Spellbinders set, I die cut three stars from the various tones of gray chips. These were added to the black piece and on top of these I added some tiny silver sequin stars as well as a few extra around the larger ones. I then used some glossy accents on the larger stars. As well I added 2 silver mirror card strips at the bottom. Using a GKD set I stamped the sentiments heat embossing the larger word in silver and used a sparkle pen on the smaller ones. I set it aside to dry before adding it to the card front. Can you believe I lost it on my desk? I was so frustrated and eventually went to ask hubby for help. He found it stuck to a label sheet which fortunately released it easily.

  1. This is lovely Johanna and a great way to use up your striped panel. I love the sparkly stars and am so glad hubby eventually found your missing sentiment; I cant tell you how many hours I’ve spent going through the dustbin for lost items in my craft room! Thanks for playing along with my colour challenge over at The Paper Players this week!

  2. Great card, Johanna, I really liked that striped layer and so clever to use paint chips for your stars. I’ve been looking for a few stamps for months hoping I would find them attached to something….no such luck.. Glad Derek found your missing sentiment.

    1. You know me – use anything sitting on my desk if I can. Glad you like it and I too like those stripes which is why it didn’t get thrown away.

  3. What a lovely card, Johanna! I love the striped paper and how you used the challenge colors. Oh my gosh…I can so relate to your search for the missing sentiment. My craft table always looks like a tornado came through, no matter how neat I try to be. I am always loosing something! Thank you for playing with The Paper Players this week!

    1. Personally I don’t think it is possible to be creating and be tidy at the same time. And at this time of year it is always chaos on my desk. Glad you like my card thanks.

  5. A star card is the perfect theme for these colors! I like the striped paper and the glossy accents on the stars is a fun way to add some shine. And I lose stuff all the time on my stamping desk; glad I’m in good company! Thanks for sharing at The Paper Players!

  6. Great idea to use paint chips you had on hand for your stars. Love those stripes, including the shiny ones you added. Glad you found your greeting; I hate when things like that get lost mid-project!
