Thinking of You in French

Color Hues #35- Navy and Pink

After I had finished my first floating technique card I was left with the outline of the heart shape. Instead of discarding this I used it to create this card adding a few other die cuts along the way. The card stock and DSP are from StampinUP. The heart flower is from the new unbranded dies I received yesterday. The heart was another piece left over from the previous post and I added that flat and raised the striped portion around it. I added some ribbon at the bottom which anchors the flower stem and some pink gems to embellish. The sentiment is from a StampinUp set, gifted to me by my girlfriend, and is called Petite Cocchinelle. Its a cute set and will be used because I have several friends who are French. This card is intended for one of them. I have one more pink heart on my desk so most likely I’ll use it soon. I ought to be tidying up, but once again I am creating instead.

  1. Cute card! You have the ladybugs!!! Awesome gift. Yes, I had to look it up. My daughter purchases French stamps as often they are very inexpensive. She likes the images, not the words, even though she took French for one year.

    1. Yes it is a cute set and my friend is very generous to me. I usually find something for her in return but at a later time so it doesn’t look like I’m trying to repay her generosity.

  2. Great use of your floating outline piece and that die added to your cards is really lovely. Seems like alot of the challenges are really in Pink mode. I like the pink with navy combo.

    1. After watching some people do this technique and use up the leftovers in a creative way, I decided to do the same thing. You know me, I use scraps all the time. Glad you like this.

  3. Thanks Gerry. I like the die myself and my hubby has decided he has to find some larger flower dies for me as he liked the way I used this one.
