The diagonal stripe die used here is one I’ve had for a while, but cannot find the label for at the moment, so I have no idea who made it. I decided to do two frames in both the blue and the turquoise and paper piece them. The one on the left is paper pieced flat and the one on the right has about half of the fallout strips popped up with foam tape. This is why you see a small amount of the white background card. Stamps used are from Itty Bitty Basics at MFT, and Hampton Art for the sentiments. The Panda comes from A.I. as do the tiny paw prints. The baby shirt and stork are die cuts from a set called Baby by Little Bee and the heart is from Hero Arts. I coloured the Panda with Inktense pencils and Sakura Glaze pens. Although I don’t need baby cards right now, I may need them later so they will go into my stash for the time being. I kept the images I added over the die cut, fairly simple as the diagonal stripes are quite strong.
When I began this colour challenge I had no idea where I was going with this design, and it evolved as I was working on it. As well I have to improve my card stock supplies as I’m running out of quite a lot of colours. I would have liked a lighter blue but don’t have anything the right shade. As both cards fit the challenge I’m letting the Design Team decide which they like the best.
We have lovely spring weather today and we managed to spend a couple of hours outside cleaning up some of the winter mess and pruning a few plants. Apparently there will be more of the same tomorrow which is nice. I hope everyone has a great weekend and thanks for stopping by. I appreciate all of you.
A great way to use the colours. I like the white stripes and the panda, but I also like the one without the stripes and the white elements. Both great cards. xx

What adorable baby cards! And it’s always such a win when you get two for one. I love those diagonal stripes and it was such a good idea to use the dimensional tape on one of them. Thanks for sharing with us at Color Hues!

It made me laugh that you need to buy more paper because you are out of colors. Not having the right shade I totally understand, but running out?!?! Oh my! Have fun finding the right shades of paper. I do like both of your cards. That’s a fun background, especially as you used the positive and the negative.

Thanks Golda. I really have to get more shades of blue into my stash. The challenge is that our dollar is so low against yours and it makes purchasing quite prohibitive.

These are adorable, Johanna, the diagonal striped die is great. The images are adorable. Check your local Michaels for cardstock. It’s only 65 lb weight but ok for layering pieces. I buy their colored heavy weight too.

You’ve got to love a twofer, great use of the leftovers from the cover plate die to create two different cards!
