There are times when I can feel truly stupid and making this card became one of them. After I had chosen my image and PP I proceeded to cut the PP. I cut several times and each time the orientation of the diagonal was wrong. Rather than continue to mess up some pretty papers I decided to go with the orientation that resulted and basically turned the sketch to the opposite of the sketch picture. I’m also craving the sign of spring which in my last house was the first snowdrops to appear. I don’t think there are any in this garden, but won’t know for sure until spring really does start to show up. My stamp is from the very first Polymer set I purchased but at that time I didn’t think about knowing the source of the stamp and today have no idea who created it. I can say that it came with a couple of Christmas images as well as an Amaryllis and the Snowdrops. I stamped it in green and clear heat embossed because Snowdrops usually have a slight tinge of green in the petal. I coloured with InkTense pencils and Sakura glaze pens adding a tiny bit of sparkle in one or two places. It was die cut using Hero Arts Infinity dies and a Sissix set of scalloped circles. The sentiment is from Joy Clair and cut with a banner die from an MFT set. I went around the edge of the sentiment with a gold glitter pen and added some Studio Katja gems too. PP is from StampinUp.

I think the idea was to use diagonals which you’ve done and it’s turned out great. The snowdrops are lovely and certainly say Spring’s on the way. If your new garden doesn’t have them you can always plant some so they’ll pop out next year.

I’m glad you like this and thanks for making me feel better about the orientation. My brain is still going – What! If there aren’t’ any snowdrops here I shall find some to plant. They are quite prolific growers and increase each year making a pretty and early display.

Hoping you find some snowdrops in your garden. You kept the sketch just switched it. Really like that patterened paper. LOL….so funny but frustrating when you are trying to get those angles just right. Great job.

Thanks a lot Gayle. My girlfriend is a StampinUp member and she was fed up with storing the PP. She has very little space for her crafting so I benefit when she wants to get rid of something. We hope to craft here, together, when Covid is over, but for now we can’t. Just heard this morning that 2 of our contractors have Omicron in their family so all renos are temporarily on hold.

What a lovely, lovely card. Like Gayle said, you kept the sketch only reversing it. Glad I’m not the only one who has to make several cuts before I get the diagonals right.

Just a mirror image of the sketch, Johanna! Not a biggie! Love your background paper and your snowdrops. It will be a while for us here in Canada before we see them although a couple of people have reported robins already and that’s unheard of! For sure double sided papers and diagonals really don’t mix well, so don’t beat yourself up over that – we’ve all done it and more than once! Snowdrops are such pretty flowers. Thanks for joining in with us at As You See It.

Johanna, it’s a very pretty card. The thing about sketches is that you can twist them, turn them, flip them, scramble them a bit, as long as you have the idea of the sketch in there. That is really pretty paper.
