Well I just made the deadline for this one and am lucky I managed to make it at all. In my recent speed challenge I aggravated my right hand with the fussy cutting and then to compound it, I hurt it again when changing our bed yesterday morning. The mattress is a heavy one and the sheets fit tight, my hand didn’t like it and now I can barely move my thumb. Typing okay, but lifting a cup hurts.
Thankfully, yesterday afternoon, sponging the circle through a mask was doable and I managed to die cut the tiny houses using an unbranded die set. Added a bit of gold behind them before adding to the circle. This morning I was able to assemble the card with a couple of tiny trees, birds and a sentiment then I called it finished. Both stamps are from matching Inspired by Stamping sets, that I pull out fairly frequently even though they are now very old.
I had planned a one layer card, but in the end this is what I came up with instead. Thanks for stopping by – I appreciate it and you.

What a sweet card Johanna. I really like your sponged background circle and that you cut the houses from patterned paper. Hope your hand gets better.

Thanks Gerry – I am icing it every hour which seems to help. I’d prefer to be crafting but am being cautious for now.

Lovely card! I like the sponged background. Take care of your hands and let them rest.

Thanks. I’m trying to let them rest but I’m not very good at doing nothing.

Thanks – I can do a few simple things but have to be careful. Probably best that I don’t aggravate it further.

This is a great one Johanna. I’m sorry your hand is hurting so bad. That colored circle behind the buildings is pretty.

Thanks Golda. Sponging was okay but trying to add the houses was more challenging particularly because they are so small and fiddly.

I would park my flip flops in any one of those cute little houses! What a delightful card, Johanna. Thanks for sharing it with us at Just Us Girls!

thanks Deborah. My hand is much improved today and I can now move my thumb again. Still can’t use scissors but at least I’m not wincing at every movement.

Thanks. My hand has improved and I can once again move my thumb. Spent the morning buying supplies and picking up party rentals. Thankfully others carried them to my car and lifted them inside. Had to laugh as I bought myself a bottle of ice tea and had to ask the cashier to open it for me. No way I could twist off the top.
