Challenge #329 – Forest Bathing at As You See It is a recipe style challenge. To make sure I got all the ingredients I made a list and checked off each one as I achieved it. The easiest part was the shades of green and embossing as I had made this background sometime ago and pulled it from my stash. The folder is one from Tim Holtz. I also had the dark green frame on hand so I added it to the card front and after adding the twine to the background layer I glued the leaf piece inside the frame. The sentiment stamp is from Joy Clair and I fussy cut around it. The tree is from a die by Penny Black and it is cut using silvery photo paper so has shine. I added a bit of colour using a sponge and then glued it to the sparkly layer before adding it to the rest. I ensured that the twine grounds the tree and then added the sentiment as you see.
Perhaps the tree is a bit busy over the embossed layer, but I still like the end result. It is interesting to see how colour sits on this photo paper and it stays put too. As this card fits the challenge at CYHTP but without the twist I am also adding it as a 2nd entry there.
Thanks for stopping by, it is appreciated and wherever you are in the world I hope your weekend is a good one.

Love your embossed background! Perfect for the challenges.

Oh wow! I love that gorgeous embossed and coloured background – how on earth did it end up in the stash and not on the card you made it for?!! Also to love is that wonderful silvery tree. What a great recipe card, Johanna… fabulous! Thanks for sharing it with us at As You See It.

Thanks Jan. At the time I was just playing with different backgrounds and not actually making cards. I set a few aside and have been slowly using them when appropriate.

Johanna that leafy background is stunning and the dark colours highlight the greens perfectly and provide just the right amount of contrast with your silvery tree – adding the banner was a great way to prevent it getting lost in the background, I think it works brilliantly. Thanks for sharing with us over at As You See It this week!

The glitter paper makes the tree stand out and the ends almost look like they’re coming out of the embossed background. Great job on this.
