Frogs and water lilies

Welcome to another challenge here at Cardz4galz where Pamela is asking for a splash of green on your project. It may surprise you to know that some of my card layers are all from a tissue box that I cut up.

Using teal CS I cut and scored the base and glued the ends into the two box tunnels. I added the back layer to one of these tunnels and after fussy cutting around some of the lilies I added another layer into the centre. Another lily was fussy cut and added for additional dimension. My main front piece was stamped using an older SSS set and I masked off the frogs so I could add the water and the bullrushes. These were then coloured using different green Distress Oxides and pencils. I fussy cut this piece so the the bullrushes and frogs look like they are free standing. I also stamped, coloured and fussy cut a dragonfly which I added to a lily pad on the back layer. Before I glued this layer, I felt that the water needed more than just the stamped waves so using a pencil I added a bit of colour to it. Once it was glued I checked to make sure it would fold flat – it did – and decided it was finished. The back layer has a white layer added so there is room to write a personal message.

This is the 3rd card I’ve done using this particular style and I like the way each one looks. The fold is easy and the 3D layers really look good, especially in reality.

We look forward to seeing your creations in our gallery and hope you have fun creating.
