Made for the Modsquad challenge this week using spring flowers. http://modsquadchallenge.com/spring-flowers/
Basically I had the corners left over from another frame I had die cut and I wanted to use them somehow. I really liked how the colours worked on the Blue Raspberry GKD CS as they are so bright on top. Glued them on first.

Then I took another small piece of card stock and die cut it with the Spellbinder set called distressed rectangle dies. I used a sakura gold pen on the edges to add a bit more interest. Then I stamped the dogwood flower using a set from Kitchen Sink stamps that I won last year and had not yet used. Its one of those layering stamp sets and I started with the scattered straw then mustard seed and finally crushed olive Distress Inks. The sentiment is two stamps from the Fabulous Flowers set by Melanie Muenchinger – GKD. I just thought they worked together. Added the corner gems for a bit of bling.
Beautiful card, Johanna! Those colours work so well together. Your flower looks awesome!

Thanks so much Jan – I liked the colours together so much that I just had to use them. I’m not 100% sure about this 2 or three step stamping. I can’t seem to figure out the placement of the each level but I guess I need to practice.

What a collaboration of fun. Love how the sentiments play off each other. And the bling is just right. Your organizing is sure coming up with lovely things to play with.

Yep, you are right, I keep finding things I had forgotten about and then in the case of the dies I decided to cut and see what it looked like. I also haven’t used some of my stamp sets yet although the intention is there. I have another set by Kitchen Sink Stamps that is baskets and I’ve not tried that yet either.

This is a fun card, Johanna! I really like how you used the corners from something else and made a beautiful frame.

There are times when a scrap piece is just too pretty to toss and these came from two frames that were too big for me to use unless I wanted a large card so I cut them down into corners. Didn’t measure though and they don’t quite match in length, lol.
