Created for 2 challenges this week … the Modsquad Stenciled background tag or card http://modsquadchallenge.com/stenciled-background-tag-or-card/ and Double D challenges Focus on the Sentiment https://daranddiane.blogspot.com/ . Here is the second card.

Initially I sponged/brushed on the background colour using Distress Oxides. When it was dry I took another of the KaiserCraft Stencils, and again used Nuvo Glimmer paste this time in Blue Topaz. I left it overnight to ensure it dried fully before trying to use it. I had die cut star left from another project so decided to use it here. As well I had the negative in mirror CS left so I cut it down and added it too. The sentiment comes from a PaperWishes set that I’ve had for ages. I stamped it in VersaMark and heat embossed in Pine green then fussy cut around it to add to the smaller star.
Love the background!! Beautiful, Johanna!

I had a hard time cutting this one up as it started out as a quite large square. But I bit the bullet, so to speak and still have a small piece to use.

Glimmer paste is such a fun tool for your tool box. Super card.

Thanks – I have found that the glimmer paste goes hard in the pot once opened and others have complained bitterly about it but no real solutions listed online. In the end I just mixed in a few drops of water – stirred and added more if necessary to get the right consistency. Worked well, but I may not buy more of it because at the price having it go hard so quickly is a nuisance.

Mine is not drying yet. I may put a piece of plastic wrap right on the product and then the lid, if I do have issue.

WOW!!! Beautiful background and I love how you fussy cut the sentiment to fit in the star.

So glad you like it Gerry. I had fun with that background and it turned out way better than I thought it would.

Johanna, this is beautiful! Looks like a ton of work, but a fabulous result. Having both mirror and glitter card in the same color really looks wonderful to me. It’s probably a texture thing, as I love cards with texture.

I like texture too, so am pleased you like this. The only real work was in creating the background as I had to wait for things to dry and I’m impatient. I forced myself to set it aside and not touch it for several hours before playing.
