The Paper Players is a colour challenge this week. As most of my friends know I’m not really into Halloween so decided to something totally unrelated to any holiday including Fall.
After looking through some of my paper stash I found the orange background piece and I also found the patterned paper too. I used a card front in edible eggplant (the closest I could find to the colour at Paper Players). Then I adhered the orange paper to the front. I cut the PP using a border die that I can’t remember manufacturer of and this added the gray I wanted for the edge. Then I stamped the two feathers in versamark and heat embossed in black. Did the sentiment the same way. Stamps are from a GKD set called Snowbirds. I found the orange brads in my stash which I’d completely forgotten about and decided to use them at the corners. Then I added a few sequins for some bling. I kind of like it, but am not sure.
The colours complement each other so well! Beautiful card!

Glad you like it – I’m still in two minds about it.

What do you mean not sure??? It’s a beautiful card. I love that it’s “Halloween” colors but it does not say Halloween in any way.

You are always so kind Gerry and I’m glad you like it. It is growing on me now that I have had some time away from looking at it.

Oh those brads really are the anchors.

I completely forgot about the brads I have stored so finding them yesterday was like finding treasure. Glad you like it.

I think your card showcases these colours in a non-Halloween way perfectly;I love the orange background and your sentiment is perfect with the feathers. Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!

Wonderful card, love the design; it’s very dramatic without being Halloween-ey!
