Coffee Togetherness

One of my stamping buddies mentioned a coffee lovers blog that has a challenge and so I made this card for the challenge.

Winter Coffee Lovers

I purchased a set of these coffee cups digi stamps the other day and printed this one out in a card size. I cut it out and added some hinges so it does open into a full card. Belly band is holding it closed. I used Prisma Color Pencils and blended it with gamsol. Using a stamp set from GKD I added the sentiment to a scrap piece of cs and created a small belly band for it. The end result is way better than I expected it to be, but it won’t stand up. I shall create a small stand for it so that the recipient can make it stand if they wish.

  1. Thanks Lisa – all the digi stamps have different designs on them and I can edit the sizes easily so should be useful for other cards later on.

  2. Thanks Bonnie I had fun making this one especially as I wasn’t sure if it would work once I had cut it out. Hubby has special linen tape for his photos so I used some of it to make the hinges. Worked perfectly and keeps the card from being bulky.

  3. This is so gorgeous and I am so glad to see your wonderful coffee cup made into a shaped card. It is amazing. My throat has been so dry due to a cough from a cold and I am constantly sipping coffee or some sort of liquid these days. So I would go for a cup of coffee and especially if it looked this beautiful!

    1. Sorry you are not feeling well Verna. Hope you get better soon and wish I could send you a real cup of coffee in a mug like this one. Glad you like it. It was fun to play.

  4. Thanks Golda. I had fun making this card and I love the sentiment myself. That is one of Claire Brennan’s sets when she was with GKD for a while.

    1. The digi designs I received are all fun like this one, but different enough to separate them. I had fun colouring this one and thought doing a shaped card would work. Until I thought of doing hinges it wasn’t going to work, but hinges made the difference. Glad you like it.
