Our good friend and neighbor is turning 65 this week and is having a party to celebrate. I made him this card while trying to make it fit the As you see it challenge.

These colours are as close as I can get to the ones showing on the challenge. I don’t own much in StampinUp and didn’t have the lipstick red in my stash from GKD either. It is a bit of guess work to get the right colours but I tried my best. I started by die cutting the numbers using an alphabet die I recently acquired and stupidly forgot to write down from whom and from where. I hand cut the squares in the yellow and peach colour and then stamped the letters using a set from Recollections. The inside reads as follows:

I added the red dots from some leftover bits from the original die cutting. I think I like it, but it sure is bright.
Your friend will be excited for the bright card!

Thanks Lisa – he is a low key individual, so something like this is perfect for him. Being bright he can’t miss it – lol.

Once your are over a certain age, bright colors are your happy place. Clearly you are not at that age yet. I am guessing he will love it.

Definitely not at that age, and in fact have a photo of both me and hubby using a teeter totter at a kids playground while on vacation. Never grow up is our motto.

Love the challenge colors and your “billboard” card. The inside is a a lot of fun, too.

Yes he will like it I’m sure and I thought it was a perfect masculine card even if very bright to look at.

Bright and bold! How could your neighbour not love getting a card like this? This is a good masculine card and the use of black works well. Thanks for playing along with us at As You See It Challenge.

Thanks for the lovely comment. I just realized I forgot to add the challenge logo to my blog. Am rectifying that omission in a minute.

It’s a great card! He’s definitely going to love it.
And an FYI, that neon coral background I used last week with the glitter clouds on it. . .that’s GKD Lipstick.

Thanks Gold. Thanks as well for the info on the cs colours. I don’t have that particular one and am not sure I like it enough to purchase. Wonder if I can get 2 pieces from somewhere?

Do you mind if the two pieces come in eight 4-1/4×51/2″ pieces? If not, I’m happy to send you some. It is so not my normal style. I’ll try and remember to get them in the mail in the next day or two. The “lipstick” color she had before was the only red I really liked, but then she changed the color and kept the name. I was quite disappointed.

That is so nice of you Golda – I don’t mind how it comes as I don’t have anything similar in my stash and it is useful to have on hand for the odd colour challenge. One of my friends is now a StampinUp agent and she is coming over for a visit at month end. She is bringing me samples of all their cs colours so it will make life much easier for comparing between other CS companies.
