This came about partly due to the challenge and partly due to what was left over on my desk. I had been fooling around with the leftover gold frame wondering how to use it, and a few days ago decided it would look okay if I angled it on a card front. Didn’t have time to continue and was also working on something else so it wasn’t until a few minutes ago that I looked at it again; after seeing the challenge. I had the tone on tone snowflake piece, the plaid paper, and the sparkly snowflake marquee pieces sitting around so instead of cutting the paper in two I decided to let the frame and tone on tone piece do the dividing. The frame is from Paper Roses, the snowflake Marquee is from Memory box and the Happy sentiment is from LawnFawn. Although the tone on tone snowflakes have sparkle, from a Stardust Sakura pen, it doesn’t show in photo, but it is very sparkly in R.L.
Lovely and how great that it worked for a challenge.

Thanks Judy – it is funny how playing with an idea before a challenge ends up turning into a challenge entry.

Great card for the challenge. I’m loving the subtle plaid background for the angled focal point. Love those snowflakes as long as they are on paper 🙂

I agree, snowflakes on paper are the best kind. I’m not looking forward to winter as they are predicting a bad one and already in the higher areas there has been quite a lot. Its too early for me and we woke up to frost this morning.

You definitely achieved something a little different and very beautiful. Love the tone on tone snowflakes, plaid background, angled panel and just everything.

Lovely contrast between the snowflakes and the plaid. The frame does work well with the sketch. The width of the frame lets it become the feature of the design. Thanks for joining us again at As You See It Challenge.

Johanna, this is BEAUTIFUL! I love how you used your frame at an angle and all of the pieces are perfect.
Now, I saw you talking about real snow, up above. Keep that stuff to yourself. I love to see pretty pictures of it, but I can’t image the cold. We’ve finally gotten under a hundred for about a week, now. It may be hot and dry here, but I’ll take that over the cold and wet.

Thanks so much Golda – I would like the warmer weather to stick around but unfortunately that is an impossibility. We don’t generally get a lot in the city, but every once in a while it can come and stick around usually leaving me somewhat trapped as I hate slipping and sliding and often end up not going out much.

Johanna, this is a lovely take on this sketch! So glad you were able to find a way to use that gorgeous gold frame! I love how the bright white snowflakes are tucked in behind the panel with the shadowy snowflakes! The plaid is a great choice for the background. Thanks for playing along at As You See It Challenges.
