I’m uncertain as to whether I Iike this card, but it isn’t terrible so I’m posting to the three challenges. I started with the red plaid and green card base which I die cut using a background die. I don’t know which brand this die as I forgot to label it. Initially I thought to die cut the large Joy word I have but it didn’t look good so I set the pieces aside. Then I used the set by Creative Expressions Festive poinsettias and die cut several of them out of red, gold and cream papers. Put them together and placed as shown on the card front. Added some leaves and foliage behind and some gems for the centers. Then I remembered a Lawn Fawn die that is actually the whole word Joyful, but once it was cut I trimmed off the single word and added the curved end to the Y. Using another of the word stamps in this same set I stamped Winter onto the cream CS and hand cut it to make a small banner. I quite like this part of the card, but the rest seems quite busy to my eyes.
The poinsettias are lovely against the plaid background – I like the green stripes too. Very clever how you cut joyful down to just use joy. How great that it works for so many challenges.

I was really tired yesterday after a bad night, so getting this card made was great. In retrospect I should have die cut the green first and added the plaid behind as I think it might have been less busy visually.

Those dies are quite old and I use them every year since I purchased them. I may get some more as I’ve just bought a new StampinUp stamp set and I shall look for matching dies for those.

Well, I really like it! I think the sentiments work perfectly and in white they draw your eye as the focal point. The dies are a lovely combination. Thanks for inspiring us at Color Hues!

It’s a nice card Johanna. I do like your sentiment and the plaid is fun, especially with the green areas. I’d be willing to bet that if your poinsettias were white or pink, rather than red, it would be more restful to your eyes.
