Teal, Orange & Brown

Just Us Girls Challenge #620 Colour Week

Recently I saw a card on Pinterest, that had a single black and white flower slightly over black lines and then some black mixed size beads placed strategically among the lines. I loved the simplicity of this design and have used the idea here although in my case more than a single flower. Teal card is from GKD (I love this colour) and the rest is from scraps. Once I had the white layer cut to size I used a ruler and a brown pencil to draw the lines. The die cut is from Spellbinders and came with my platinum 6. I added some teal DSP from StampinUp for the additional flowers and leaves on top of the orange piece as well as for the Hi. The brown hearts are fallouts from a new die I got yesterday and I used those instead of gems for embellishment. One of our contractors requested me to make a Mother’s Day card and I’m using the new die to make it.

  1. Johanna… this card just works! Love the addition of the thin lines to anchor the image and the floating hearts…just lovely! Thank you so much for joining us and sharing at Just Us Girls.

  2. Great take on the color challenge and that die is a great addition to your supplies. Very pretty. I’ve been leaning towards a lot of Hello, Hi and Friend greetings on the outside of cards unless I’m specificially making one for a special person. Love this card and design.

    1. Thanks Gayle. I like the simple Hi as it lends itself to any occasion and I can dress up the inside as needed.
