Having seen a card that used a stamp in this way only with an Ombre look, I decided that doing one in rainbow colours would work for the challenge at Less is More. I stamped the birthday wishes first using Chipped Sapphire, and then with the second stamp I stamped up the side of the card at an angle using the rainbow idea. To get this angle I used a sheet of paper at an angle and stamped from the bottom to the top. Stamps used are from a collaboration set by the Stamping Village and in particular Altenew and Picket Fence Studios. I added a bit of sparkle using a glitter pen on the candle flames and over the larger word and flourish in the Birthday greeting. I did a second card using the same idea but in this case it is on a separate layer and has balloon images as well. These I coloured with glitter pens and Sakura glaze pens.

Personally I like the second card best but it has too much in it for the actual challenge. Thanks for spending time with me today. Have a great weekend.
Your first card looks nice in the challenge gallery. I agree that I like the second one a bit better, but not fitting the challenge keeps it away. Nice job on the ombre.

Sorry for the delayed response. We were in Vancouver this week so very little time on the computer. Glad you like these.

Clever and awesome card. I like both but my favorite is the second card too. I like the design building to the top with the complete sentiment.

Thanks Gayle – I didn’t get a chance to respond earlier as we were in Vancouver. Saw an awesome garden while there. A little girls paradise actually. Glad you like these.

What fun cards. The balloons add just the right festive touch for a birthday, but you’ve done a good job keeping with the less is more theme on the first one. the angled greeting adds a lot of interest.

Thanks Judy. There are times when CAS cards are a big challenge for me and this was one of those times. In my head I wanted balloons but realized that it wouldn’t work for the challenge.

I too like them both. The first one is perfect for the challenge and the balloons on the second one adds a more festive touch.

Thanks Gerry. It was fun to do these and not difficult either.

I like both, but the first is much more in line with a CAS design. Great idea to repeat stamp on a bit of an angle. Thanks for playing with us at Less Is More.

I love them both, but you’re right about needing something else in that chunk of white space. It looks good white, but better with the balloons.

Thanks Golda. Sometimes too much white space freaks me out and yet when I see what others do I am in admiration.
