In spite of spending most of today coughing and spluttering, I really wanted to get this card into the challenge. I had almost finished it yesterday but it needed a sentiment and I decided to add one and upload it before heading back to my bed. I chose an older folder that is basically a tulip frame by Crafts Too and once it was embossed I went over the raised parts with some Tattered Lace using a sponge. I did think about cutting out the center section but decided to leave it and instead I added the hollyhocks. These were cut with an unbranded die. The butterfly is a small sticker and the sentiment comes from a Joy Clair set. It is a very simple card, but with the softness of the colours is quite pretty and my hubby has asked me to make another one without the other pieces so he can use it for photography. I guess the frame can be considered as meeting the challenge twist of borders.
Thanks for stopping by.
The hollyhock die is lovely against the tulip EF. The butterfly is a nice pop of black with all the pink. Hope you feel better.

Thanks Judy. I had to have that scan early this morning so was up really early and although I still feel terrible, decided to spend 5 minutes on the computer before heading back to bed. Its hubby’s birthday so I need to at least be able to cook him a nice dinner later.

The good thing about these challenges is that I am using things I often ignore. Thanks for stopping by.

Love the colour palette – and a great idea to use ink on the raised embossed areas. xx

Thanks Lisa – I hope it goes away quickly as I’m fed up with the coughing – it hurts.

As the frame is borders, I should hope it works. It’s a great card and I love that the tops of the hollyhocks are lifted. Get rest and heal, Johanna! Hopefully your husband will enjoy his birthday without you having to do too much.

Glad you like it Golda. I’m starting to feel a bit better but it is slow going. Hubby’s birthday a bust but I managed to cook him a nice meal the next day thankfully.
