outrageous orange

The background piece here, started out as something totally different. I had the idea of stamping small sunflowers in Oxide ink and then clear heat embossing, but I messed it up and didn’t like it at all. I tried covering it all with the Carved Pumpkin ink and hated it. After a small thinking session, I wondered what would happen if I covered the piece with scrunched up tissue paper and that worked great. Once it was dry I added more ink using Rusty Hinge to deepen the colour that was showing through the tissue. Dried that and added some Inkagold in places. Loved how this turned out and decided to use it the way you see here. I added a die cut from a very old Sizzix die to which I also added a little gold. Glued it in places and added the die cut panel with foam tape for dimension. Panel was cut with a an old Spellbinders Distressed edge die. The angle of the photo makes the orange look much lighter than it actually is and in reality this is a lovely rich background. Added the butterflies to finish the look and the sentiment is from a Joy Clair set that I use a lot.

Thanks for stopping by, it is appreciated. Hope you are having a great day.

    1. Thanks a lot. When I messed up the original idea I was about to actually throw it away, can you believe it? The idea of using tissue paper came to me instead and I’m glad I used it now.
