The first creation of 2024, and I chose to make a card to fit the Color Hues challenge of light blue and navy. My card front is Night of Navy from StampinUp and I also used a light blue textured CS that I bought in Michaels recently. The stamp used is a background stamp that is mixed media in style and is from Graphic 45. The heart die is from SSS. I put my card into the Misti and placed the stamp. Before inking I tore a scrap piece of paper and laid it across the top section at an angle and then using VersaMark I stamped. Added some blue embossing powder from Ranger and heat set. I added it back into my Misti and stamped at the top in Chipped Sapphire. You can’t see it clearly but the dark spots are the stamp. Then I cut the hearts but managed to keep everything intact when I transferred it the Misti. Using the same stamp and Chipped Sapphire ink I stamped over the entire piece. This gave me a bit more contrast and more texture. Again keeping it intact I glued it to the card. For my sentiment I used an older set from Divinity Designs and heat set this in white.
This card is intended for a close friend who is struggling with illness at the moment. Hopefully it will bring a little cheer into her day. I’d do more but she won’t let me and I respect her boundaries because I totally understand where she is coming from.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope your New Year celebration was fun however you spent your time.

Great card for the color challenge. The mixed media stamps with the hearts gave you a very abstract look especially combined by the white letter sentiments. I’m sure your card will bring cheer to your friend.

Thanks Gayle – I had fun with this although it didn’t start out to become what I posted. It morphed!
