It isn’t so often that I use my stencils and I really should use them more. My skill level would improve if I did. That said I used a Creative Expressions stencil to do this background last week. I set it aside, as at the time, I didn’t have an idea in my head. I’m adding it to the challenge although unless you count the colours it isn’t really a spring theme.
In the meantime, I spent some time searching for a pair of scissors and a tiny die that I seemed to have lost. This entailed actually cleaning my craft room properly instead of the usual lip service I’d been giving. Most of my weekend was spent doing this in between some gardening and grocery shopping. In the clean up process, I found both the scissors and die along with a lot of bits and pieces that needed to be used or thrown out. As sometimes occurs, the bottle, which was cut from a Tattered Lace die and the flower, unbranded, fell on top of this background. A card was born.
I edged the background piece with a Spectrum Noir glitter pen and added it to the card front. The bottle was popped up on foam tape with the sentiment across it and the flower was just added for embellishment as you see. The tiny bow was one I had tied a while back – on a good hand day – and was added to the neck of the bottle. I had the sentiment left from another project but now I can’t remember which stamp set it comes from.
I’m still working on my craft room in that I need to do something about all the paper scraps etc., but I took a break to get this card posted. It is nice to have a clean work surface although it won’t take long before its a mess again.
Thanks for stopping by, it is appreciated. I hope you all enjoyed a decent weekend. It was pretty wet here on Saturday but yesterday and today have been mostly dry.

Your stenciling looks great; I like the colors you chose. And the gold you added is a nice touch.

Great stencilled background! My craft room is in serious need of a major tidy-up, too – who knows what I’ll find buried in there!!

Thanks. You would be surprised what you will find. My goal now is to at least keep things in boxes or similar so that the work surface doesn’t get covered up.

Thanks Gerry and I agree about the bottle die. It came free with the magazine.

Great stenciled background with the gold glitter and color choice. I really dislike when things get lost on my workspace too and it usually is the sign for me to clean up too.

Thanks a lot. My hubby walked in and did a double take so I guess it must have been pretty bad – LOL

Love the colours of the stencil background – and I remember that Tattered Lace die – a great size to take centre stage. xx

Thanks. I don’t even know if they do the magazine anymore, but know that I liked to purchase it when I could afford to.
