abstract squares

There is a colour challenge at Sunday Stamps and I came up with this entry. As I’m lousy at measuring, so my hubby helped me to get accuracy with the squares and once I masked off a section I sponged colour and then moved masks and did each section. I used Distress Oxides in as close a match to the swatches on the photo at Sunday Stamps.

The little die has been on my desk for a few days because I can’t find the magnet and name of product it fell from. I guess it came off when I was working on another project. Anyway I decided that perhaps it would work on this design and cut it four times before adding it as you see. The star sentiment is from a dollar store by Forever in Time and was fussy cut for the center of the card. I added foam tape to the panel and then placed on another scrap piece before adhering to the card front. I debated whether to add a couple of additional, but very small stars, and decided against it. My hubby really likes the card and commented that he felt the additional stars would detract rather than add anything. Its a simple design but I think it is quite effective and I like the end result.

Thanks for stopping by, your comments and your time are always appreciated.

  1. This card looks great! I like the ink blended squares. So fun to use a die sitting on your desk. It really adds something to each square.
