little monkey

As you See It had some website issues and I couldn’t access it at all for quite a while. As it is one of my favourite sites I kept checking and yesterday discovered it was fine. Then the challenge was did I have enough time to create? Hopefully I’m getting this in just under the deadline wire. I pulled out this StampinUP set that was gifted to me, did a small search for some ideas and found something Here that I CASE’d to get my own version. I had to fussy cut it all as I don’t have the dies that match unfortunately. The recipe called for Animals, Texture or embossing, die, Colour and Twine. I used a StampinUP folder and then sponged some colour over it. After I had stamped and coloured my images, using Prisma pencils, they were fussy cut and added as you see. The circle is a die cut from a Hero Arts infinity set and I heat embossed the sentiment and a leaf outline before punching a small hole. I threaded some ribbon and some twine through the hole and tied them and then it was added using a piece of foam tape to the corner.

Considering my time constraints I’m quite pleased with myself that I managed to create this and to achieve a not bad result – lol.

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate you and your time. Now I’m off to finish laundry and put together a meal.

  1. Cute card! I liked that monkey, but own a Hero Arts one so I let this one go. It was a punch that came with the monkey in a bundle. I like the embossing folder you chose. It gives movement for the banana throwing monkey.

  4. You certainly did get in under the wire, and I’m so glad you did! I love this little chimp and his swirly background. Lots of fun! Thank you for persevering and checking back in with us. If you are a Facebook user, we do have an As You See It Challenge page and it was very useful this week for letting people know what was happening with the page. Thanks for sharing this cheeky chap with us at AYSI.

  6. Adorable monkey, Johanna! I love your choice of embossing folder, too! I’m glad you kept checking! It was certainly more difficult than one would have expected to fix our problems with the website.

    1. Thanks so much. Because I’m a WordPress blogger I don’t get notifications from some sites. Anyway I didn’t miss the challenge which is all that matters now.

    1. Thanks. The EF has fast become my favourite and has been used a fair amount since it arrived.
