It’s a colour challenge at Sunday Stamps, SSC381 Whispers of Spring and this is what I came up with.
The paper pad I purchased from Hunky Dory has so many gorgeous designs so I chose one of the 2 sided pieces for my background as the colours are close to the chart graphic. I used a layout that I’ve done before by Natasha Foote as it is one of the easiest to do. I cannot remember which brand my dragonfly die is from, but I’ve had it for some time.
I cut the background part of the dragonfly using a scrap piece close in colour on the chart and then the fancy part was cut using an inked piece I did ages ago and didn’t use. After putting the two pieces together I sprayed a little shimmer spray on top and here at home, when I tilt it in the light it sparkles beautifully. The sentiment is a freebie from Scrapbook.com and after fussy cutting, I inked around the edges before adhering. To make the dragonfly wings tilt, I used a shaper ball and because the background paper was malleable the shape is staying well even after I’ve pressed it down with my fingers.
We just got back from a little event in Victoria. We belong to the museum there and have passes to go to the attached IMAX theatre. Currently they have a small film fest going on and one of the films was in 3D and all about the Impressionists. It was amazing. Somehow they managed to make the art come alive and being in 3D it felt as if one had stepped into the painting. If you have anything like this come to your area, I can highly recommend seeing this if you like art. As I’m rather fond of the impressionists it was magical for me. After a very wet drive back I’m winding down by posting this card. We had a late lunch so won’t need a meal now. Maybe a small snack but not much else.
Thanks for spending time with me today. I appreciate you and your time.

What a delightful card. Love the big dragonfly. Your trip to the museum sounds like fun. A 3D filim sounds very interesting.

Your background goes very well with the butterfly. Beautiful and delicate looking card and lovely sentiment too. Your outing to the IMAX theatre regarding impressionist art plus a nice lunch afterwards sounds like the perfect day and ended with making a truly beautiful card.
