Sadly, I require a sympathy card so I’ve combined the need with the challenge at Double D Double D Textures Challenge 2026. Remembrance day is also coming up, which is why I thought of poppies.
To achieve the texture I used an unbranded die as a folder and an actual folder from Craft Concepts to add texture to the die cut. The poppies are from an unbranded die using red CS.
I added some thin foam tape to the flowers to bring them up slightly from the background. My sentiment is from a set by GKD called The Wetlands and I cut it into 2 pieces before attaching as you see.
A very simple and quick card to make, although the reason for the card is sad.
Thanks for stopping by, it is appreciated.

What a lovely sympathy card. I really like the poppy die. The textured background really sets them off. Looks like a winner to me.

Simply beautiful sympathy card and appropriate using the red poppies commemorating Remembrance Day. The Canadian doctor, Lt-Col. John McCrae wrote In Flanders Fields in 20 minutes while sitting in an ambulance and looking over at the grave of a fallen soldier who was his friend. He was amazed at the abundance of red poppies blowing in the wind over the scarred land with graves and trenches. Apparently the poppy seeds can survive underground for 120 years but with all the land destruction, the seeds were above ground in the sunlight and with overturned soil, thrived immediately. I love the embossed white background and the raised poppies are lovely. Very thoughtful and sad as well being a sympathy card.
