The last play background made using Colour Burst and a bit of gold perfect pearls. I sprinkled the different colours onto CS and added some of the gold here and there. Then I sprayed with water and watched the magic happen. It is such a fun thing to do as each time the effect is so different. I left it to dry and then hubby finally took his photo so I could use it. I decided to enter it into these two challenges.

I cut my panel down into 2 pieces and added this one to a gold washi sheet which I then adhered to the card front. Stamped the sentiment from Our Daily Bread designs and managed to smear the right edge. What to do … my solution was to add the tiny butterfly which then led to the larger 2nd one as it needed some balance. I coloured in one word with a fine gold pen.
Stunning panel, Johanna! Wonderful solution to your problem!

Thanks so much Jan. Playing with the powders and watching what happens is really cool and when you get something like this one your heart sings.

Wow… what a great ink background! The colors are bold and pretty and I like how you paired it with the butterflies. Thanks for sharing with us at Inkspirational!

You are a winner too, particularly in the friendship department. Don’t know what I would do without your thoughts on the stuff I make.

Thanks Lisa – You would have such fun if you used your colour bursts. Every one you make turns out differently depending on paper and the amount of water you use. I am going to do some more soon, perhaps on Watercolour paper next time and I may even try on Yupo paper too.

You will love playing with the colours. There are so many ways to play. In my case I added the powders directly to my CS until it was covered with little dots. Tapped the gold from a brush and then sprayed quite a bit of water on. I do the spraying in a box to keep my other stuff safe from spatters. My paper immediately curled up into a hill which meant the excess water just moved to the edges and then onto the paper towel underneath. I lifted it out and moved it flat and then left it to dry. At first I thought the gold had disappeared but when dry it showed up as you see it on the piece. I love the effect and am going to do more with different colours. the physical card has much more gold sheen to it than shows on the photo.

Glad you like this Gayle. I enjoyed making the background and this morning I was watching my heart pump on the echocardiogram test and saw tons of colours that represented blood flow. The patterns were quite interesting and I lay there wondering if I could make a background and get similar patterns. Will have to try one day. Kept my mind entertained during the test which was uncomfortable due to position I had to be in.
