Sentiment only

At Paper Players this week the challenge is to feature a large sentiment. On the weekend I purchased some new EB powder that is a bit different and I was dying to use it so here is the result.

PP464 – A Clean-and-Simple Challenge

Using two pieces of blue this became a tone on tone look for the rest. I embossed the darker piece and then ran a metallic gold ink over the top just to get a hint of gold. I stamped the sentiment from the Lettered and Lovely GKD set using Versamark ink and then heat set in the new powder from Cosmic Shimmer. I just love this look – it has texture and some other colour besides gold and it also adds shimmer to the CS. Using a stitched die from Gina K I cut the panel and adhered it to some foil for a border. Used some foam on the back to pop it up on the embossed piece. I added a few gems for some bling and a tiny wire bow in the corner.

  1. Pretty tone on tone card. The embossing powder on your sentiment has a very glittery look to it which makes it stand out on your background. Awesome card.

    1. You know this card wasn’t really planned. I was just testing out the new EB powder with this sentiment and wondered what I could do with it when I saw the result. I realized it fit this challenge and figured out how to use it with this result. Sometimes the unplanned cards turn out better than expected. Glad you like it.

    1. Once I had the dry embossing done I realized it needed something extra which is why the gold was swiped. Didn’t want much but the hint makes all the difference to my mind. Enjoyed the challenge thanks for commenting.

    1. sometimes focussing on the sentiment gives us a simple yet effective card and I so rarely focus just on the sentiment. Glad you like it.

  3. Sounds as if your passion for anything blue is similar to mine for anything purple. I had fun with the challenge and using my new EB powder.
