I made a second card for the Paper Players colour challenge so I could use up both the positive and negative scraps from the previous card. Having received a very pretty handmade card, which has a removable ornament on the front, I used the idea with my scraps.

Using the negative blue piece I paper pieced the positive bits into it and backed it with some shimmery vellum. I die cut this out using an old nesting set for which I stupidly didn’t keep the name, but suspect it is from Spellbinders. I punched a small hole at the top and added a loop of silver string tied into a bow. The loop is attached to the card back but is easily removed by recipient for later tree hanging. On the kraft cs I dry embossed some lines and added silver washi tape and left over striped piece. It has quite a bit of sparkle but once again camera doesn’t pick that up. I like the ornament shape as it is a bit different than is usual.
How cool that you used the negative piece for your background….a great idea for your ornament! LOVE the silver washi tape, and I bet the whole thing really sparkles IRL! Thanks for playing with my colors again this week at the Paper Players!

Glad you like it Leanne. I simply couldn’t let the bits go to waste so when the idea popped into my head I was really happy.

I really like this! Your ornament is not typical, which makes it extraordinary.

This is so clever! I love the embossed lines and the sparkle. It’s so nice that the recipient will have a beautiful ornament to use year after year. Thank you for sharing with The Paper Players this week. Happy holidays!

Thank you. I liked it so much I have another one in process. Very different but similar idea.

Your light blue and kraft are really a great combination. The scored lines really add to the card and so glad you were able to use the negative piece to create this beautiful card.

Thanks Gayle. I had such fun making this one and still had some leftover bits on my desk so I have just about finished another one. Similar in concept but a very different ornament and colours. Will post when it is finished.
