I’ve needed some additional masculine cards this week so created a few ocean type cards. In the process another thought came to mind and this card is the result. Using the Koi die from PoppyStamps I embossed it using my Big Shot. Went over it with some gold ink using my finger and then a Sakura gold pen. Taking a circle stencil – gifted by a talented stamp buddy – and using different Distress Oxides I added the bubbles. Sentiment stamp is from Stamping Village. I quite like the result.
Your fish shines through. I can see the embossing and the gold. Nice card!

Thanks Lisa – I’m glad you can see the fish as on the photo he isn’t as apparent as in R.L.

Awesome idea to use the die to get your embossed image of the fish, and the gold you added really helps it to stand out. Great bubbles, too!

Love the “bubbles” for your koi. It’s pretty neat that your take in the bubbles first then spot the fish. Great card.

Thanks Gayle. That idea was in my head and I kept thinking about it. Finally sat down to see if it would work.

What a clever and beautiful design, Jo! I love the assortment of bubbles in various sizes and shades of blue. However, it is the gorgeous koi that steals the show. The gold truly glistens! Thank you for playing in my clean and simple challenge at The Paper Players this week!

Thanks very much. The Koi stands out better in my craft room than he does on the photo, but photography is not my thing really. Glad you like it though.

Thanks Gerry – I couldn’t get the idea out of my head so am pleased that it actually worked. Wish the fish showed better in the photo though.

What a fun card! Definitely works for masculine and you can see the water, even with all the white space. I like it! Creating your ideas is definitely a plus as you wind up with great results. Even if they don’t turn out quite as planned, you can adjust it a bit and make something great. I’m glad this one turned out the way you planned.
