It was the tags that inspired, actually if I’m truthful, reminded me, I had made one weeks ago that I hadn’t yet used. When I saw the challenge I thought perhaps I could make it work on a card. The style to my mind is Freestyle Collage because I used a lot of scraps both on the tag and then on the card front. The tag shape was cut from a die set (one of 2 sets) given to me by my hubby a couple of Christmas’s ago. I’m not a big tag maker and admire the crafters I see who can create truly beautiful ones. It definitely isn’t my forte or go to style. That said, doing one or two once in a while is good for me. The little squirrel and nut is from a kit that a neighbor gave to me when she downsized. The leaf is something I played with and didn’t like, and is from a GKD set, but I eventually jazzed it up a bit so it could be used. Ribbon is from my stash and the word is stamped using a stamp from a SSS set I really like. I fussy cut around the word so it would fit and also went over the image with a copper Sakura gelly roll Stardust pen. Most of the strips are leftover scraps from backgrounds I had created and couldn’t throw away.
Lovely fall card. I like how you’ve used all the scrap strips. The squirrel is cute.

What a nice fall card. I love the tag (and you say tags aren’t your forte). It’s so nice you could make good use of your leftovers.

Your freestyle card technique came together very cohesively. All fall elements from the squirrel to the leaf and colors. Love the added strips and their placement on your card.

If I’m honest I’m not feeling very inspired today and probably shouldn’t be crafting. I’m scrambling to get my cards done as I really want to mail, at the very least the international ones, this week.

Johanna, I love what you can create with leftovers! Very nicely done and I think your tag is lovely on it’s own and great as part of this card.

Glad you like – personally I don’t but then I rarely like any tags I make.

Tags are a very small space to create on. I bet, if you try techniques you enjoy doing, on tags, you’ll enjoy them more.
