Slimline Sketch

Challenge # 73 – December “Die-Lirious Holiday Season” & Global Design Project #270 | Sketch Challenge

Double Trouble wants Christmas with a die cut and Global Design was a sketch challenge so I managed to combine them into this one card. PP is from a paper pack by Reminisce. I used a tag shape instead of an oval and added some scrap die cuts to decorate the die cut tag. Added some foil snowflakes and a couple of gold stars along with the ribbon/bow for added interest. I managed to involve the twist with PP and the ribbon. The sentiment was heat embossed and is from a KaiserCraft set I got last year. Tags are definitely not my thing and I’m not sure I like this.

Apparently I’ve met an additional requirement so am now linking this card to another blog https://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/2020/12/o-christmas-tree.html. It’s fun to be able to enter into another challenge.

  1. Thanks – the bow took me a good 30 minutes to tie. I shall have to find an easier way once I’ve gotten moved and a new space organized.

  2. Such a sweet die cut scene on your tag. The layering patterned paper is gorgeous. I know what you mean about tags, not my cup of tea either but I didn’t even realize it was a tag as I was focused on that gorgeous bow.

  3. I love slimlines and the background paper is gorgeous and the scenery you created on your tag and “Tied It Up” with ribbon is a perfect focal point… love it all. Thanks for sharing with us at Double Trouble. 4. Thanks for the reassurance – I wasn’t sure about it fitting the sketch, but I suppose we can interpret things as we choose.

  5. Very pretty card my friend, Love that background paper and the sweet scene on the tag. You’re not the only one who gets frustrated tying bows.

    1. Thanks Gerry, If my hands are not hurting it is easier, but in the damp winter months arthritis becomes more of an issue.

  6. I don’t know why you don’t like tags, you used this one beautifully! I really like your card. That’s beautiful PP and you paired it wonderfully with your tag scene. I’m sorry your arthritis is causing you so much pain.

  7. Thanks Golda. The pain is not bad all the time, just worse in the winter months on occasion. But my fingers don’t work the way they used to.

  8. I chuckled at your comment – I’m 69 so have a few years on you, but I know you have health issues so I guess that explains some of it.

    1. It’s the health issues I’ve had since I was little that cause most everything. Doctors told me when I was growing up that I wouldn’t live to be 40, so no matter the problems now, they are all bonus years! Though I do think pretty much everyone’s bodies stop doing as much as easily as they get older.
