Auss-ome Day

Last week I made a b’day card for my hubby (he loved it) but in the process messed up a couple of times so I decided to find a way to use up the bad parts. First I rescued the inked part that I had accidentally die cut some images from and now had holes in it. That became the sky along with a partial die cut copper piece that I used as the sun. I added these to some cream paper and then added the stamped and die cut pieces that were not used on the previous card as shown here. I used a Copic pen to ground the kangaroos and tree. Then I stamped the sentiment and added some embossed lines to the base card after I glued the image panel to the kraft CS. I’m happy at how this turned out and have managed to use most of the messed up pieces in the process. It fits the Krafty Chicks challenge I think so I’ve entered it there.

    1. Thanks Gayle – I think I am getting pretty clever with using up my scraps and badly done efforts. Better than wasting the CS or PP. Sometimes leaving scraps sitting on my desk creates their own patterns and I end up with not having to think too much to use them.

    1. I think my middle name should be frugal, lol. I just hate to throw away something that could possibly be used, but occasionally there are so many bits I realize I can’t keep it all. Glad you like this.

  1. I love that you were able to use your “messed up” pieces and create a second, wonderful card! You did a great job on this and I love your ingenuity in using the other pieces.

  2. Thanks Lisa – It is always fun to use something that wasn’t right for the original idea and come up with another way to use the piece.

  3. There are no mistakes in card making. Because we know how to embellish it! Great cover, no one would be the wiser until they read your blog post.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful card with us at Krafty Chicks Challenge.
