CAS and Colours

Challenge #457 – Colours

I find colour challenges really challenging because in many cases I don’t have the right colours. However I think I’ve managed reasonably well with this card. First off, the base is almost an expresso brown and the sentiment is the same colour. Merlot was represented by Aged Mahogany which is pretty close, but the green was really hard. In the end I used Forest Moss and over the top a touch of Evergreen bough which seemed to mix into something resembling the Evening Evergreen. I used an older StampinUp stamp set called Kinda Elclectic for the leaf sprig and butterflies and for the sentiment I used another older SSS set called Smile. To finish the card I spattered some Aged Mahogany.

  1. I think you did a great job on matching the color challenge colors. It helps me when they list a color and not just a picture of colors in a challenge. This is such a pretty CAS card.

    1. Thanks Gayle. I had swatches but some new colours have been added and I don’t have those yet. I think colour challenges are the hardest to do at times.

    1. Thanks Gerry, I’m never sure about colour challenges because the computer screen often changes how they look.

  2. I think you did a great job with these colours Johanna! The texture effect of the stamps is a neat detail and I love the splatter detail too! Thanks for sharing with us over at CAS Colours & Sketches this week!
