Spent some time creating with my LawnFawn interactive die set, this time using a portrait position on the card front. Hubby loves these so I think I will make him one for his birthday early next year.

After cutting out all the pieces I put the card together and then added the visual elements to each panel. Mice on Ice from LawnFawn used on the front, 2 snowmen from one of GKD sets in the middle and a polar bear from a LawnFawn set on the next bit. Last one has a sentiment circle and a space for me to write a greeting. PP is from a 6X6 paper pad I got on sale at Michaels. I’m still waiting for the matching dies for the mice on ice set so I fussy cut them out. Quite difficult as they are so tiny to handle.

I didn’t have time to upload this card yesterday which is a good thing because I’ve found that it fits the new Paper Players challenge this week.

I had all these small scraps lying around and decided to use them. Added the PP to the card base after I had added a glitter border to it. Then added the dry embossed piece that I had backed with some foam to pop it up a bit. The trees were already cut left over from another project and the little gold deer and the sentiment were also from other projects. Added a bit of bling to the trees to finish it.

One of my stamping buddies mentioned a coffee lovers blog that has a challenge and so I made this card for the challenge.

I purchased a set of these coffee cups digi stamps the other day and printed this one out in a card size. I cut it out and added some hinges so it does open into a full card. Belly band is holding it closed. I used Prisma Color Pencils and blended it with gamsol. Using a stamp set from GKD I added the sentiment to a scrap piece of cs and created a small belly band for it. The end result is way better than I expected it to be, but it won’t stand up. I shall create a small stand for it so that the recipient can make it stand if they wish.

Hubby needs a small gift for his club event so I made him a set of cards. Had fun doing something different than Christmas cards on the weekend. He is happy with them and all I have left to do is make a box and add the envelopes. Easy peasy …

Used the Hero Arts kit I purchased in summer for three along with a Tim Holtz sun ray stencil for the first three. The giraffe is not from Hero Arts but is a very old rubber wooden block stamp that I fussy cut. The other three are from a stencil I made myself using old fashioned hand cutting technology. I sponged through in several shades of yellow and browns. The little birds are from a re-purposed birthday card that I couldn’t throw away and I stamped the middle one using a GKD set. Added a bit of bling for some interest. Doing these made a nice change, but now it is back to Xmas cards for another few days.

Another challenge another card …

CAS Colours and a sketch challenge uses 2 blues and a pink and this is as close as I could get to them. I found the pp in my stash and die cut the trees from it. I added them to the square background keeping them flat. I had the circle wishes from a free download done 2 years ago and I adapted it so I could cut it the right size. I added the pink strip as a popped up piece and the sentiment on the top. It still needed something so I stamped some white snowflakes here and there and added some sequin snowflakes in pink and blue down the side of the card front.

Global Design Project has a new colour challenge and this is my entry. I got as close as possible to the colours but perhaps not an exact match as I only have distress inks.

Using a pink card front and a panel of textured gray cs on top, I then stamped out the design on a piece of white cs. I used all Distress inks to get as close a match as possible to the challenge colours. Stamps are from a Lawn Fawn set and although I’ve used many in the set, I’ve never actually used this reindeer. I did use some snowflake stamps from another set as I needed a couple of small ones. I added a bit of shine using a gelly roll pen from Sakura and I stamped the sentiment several times on a strip of white cs and added it diagonally to the front. This is such a non-traditional Christmas card and was fun to make.

A very simple and quick card for the challenge CAS Colours & Sketches.

I used Gina K card stock in Sweet Corn and added a curved piece of pp to the top. Stamped the butterfly from GKD sending Love stamp set and coloured with Pigma brush pens. Added a touch of gold to the body and wings. Sentiment also a GKD stamp and I added a gold border to the edge along with a few gems. Created curved border using same gems.

Using up some scrap pp and blue cs I created this card for the As you See it Challenge. Thank goodness I had most of the snowflakes already cut because without that it would have been impossible to complete in 10 minutes or less. Took me 8.5 minutes to assemble once I had all the bits ready to go.

I used dark navy for the card front and then the two scrap pieces to go on top of that. Snowflakes were already cut so I laid them out and glued them on. I also had the sentiment tag already cut so I just stamped the greeting, inked the sides and popped it on an angle. Added some blue gems to snowflake centers and card was finished.

Decided to do a small series of cards based on a design I did earlier for a challenge.

I did a total of 10 of these last week. All similar although not quite the same. I like them as they are understated and elegant to my eyes.

All I’ve been doing lately is making Christmas cards. Only 50 more to go and I’m done, at least I hope I am. Saw something similar to this on Pinterest and decided to make my own version.

Using glitter scraps I die cut the snowflakes and arranged them as you see here. Glued them down and added some gems to centers. I liked the effect so I actually cut a bundle of snowflakes in different scrap pieces for use later. They take a while to separate from the die so doing a few saves me time later. I also had the sentiment already stamped but it didn’t work for the original card so used it here on top of a sticker oval I had left from something else. Adhered to red card front to give a festive look.
