My local scrapbook store had a stamp and die sale recently so I purchased this pretty die. Using some scrap glitter CS I cut it out and added some dimensionals to the back before mounting it onto the card base. I used another piece of silver glitter foam to die cut the sentiment. I am wondering if I can use this scene with my Grand Cabinet 3D set? It is slightly bigger than the aperture on that die but I think I can make it work. Will keep you posted if I’m successful.

My stamping buddy Gayle mentioned she may have this same die and for some reason this triggered another idea for me to use it.

I die cut the main image in a layering weight blue card stock along with a glittery snowman from a die I was given and don’t know the name of. I think it is from Paper Wishes but not sure. I also cut a few trees as well. Using GKD heavy weight CS I scored and folded in two places. I took a scrap strip of card stock, scored and folded in the same places then added Nuvo glitter to it and set to dry. I found some Vellum that has a pattern looking like snow in it and covered 2 pieces of pale blue card stock with it. Stamped the sentiment and heat embossed in gold. Putting it together I first adhered the die cuts to the white strip and then adhered that to card front. For additional interest I added a few stars and some bling. The panel you can’t see is for my personal message to recipient.

I’ve had these two digi stamps forever and never used them until now. I took them with me during summer when on our boat and coloured them with Prisma colour pencils. When home again I blended with some Gamsol then cut them to the size I wanted. I added a bit of Stickles glitter glue to them both and used the sentiment from a GKD winter flower set which I also fussy cut to a size I needed.

When travelling to Texas I went to a shop that a stamping buddy suggested and I found this die. I thought it would be great for a Christmas card so here is my first one.

I used a snow stencil and nuvo glitter paste to make the snowy background and stamped the sentiment down the sides in white. Cut a snowy white base and added the die cut (from glitter CS) on top.

This came about because I messed up one layer of another diorama I had done a while ago and I didn’t want to waste the pieces I still had.

I used the Spellbinders Grand Cabinet 3D die set to get the various layers. I had a piece of glitter background that I had created a few days ago and wasn’t sure I liked but it worked here for the back portion of the card. I added various die cuts to each layer creating a winter scene. The dove was from another messed up die cut on glitter paper, that I didn’t want to waste so I hid the torn parts behind and brought part of the wing and the tail to the front. I added some bling here and there on each layer and more on the front. In R.L. it looks much more dynamic than on the photo and it is intended for my sister who I am sure will love it. I like making these cards but they take a lot of time and patience and for that reason I don’t do many.

Double D has a new challenge called Featured Challenge and I picked an owl to play with.

The stamp is from Picket Fence Studios and I purchased it when in Bermuda this year. I had stamped it twice and coloured it with Prisma pencils prior to fussy cutting out both images. Sentiments came from a Tim Holtz Idea-ology pad. Used an embossing folder to get texture and a new background stamp from Simon Hurley for the music. I like this stamp because it splits into sections so you can use all together or split apart as I did here. I added a bit of shine to the owls but it doesn’t show on photo.

One of the small wall decorations on our boat was looking quite ratty so I threw it away and was searching for a replacement. Of course when looking for something specific it can never be found, but during my search I suddenly wondered why I was shopping when it was possible to make my own.

Here is what I came up with … I had die cut a lot of seahorses recently as I had an idea for another card, but hadn’t had time to use them. I spent some time pencil colouring them using some gamsol to blend. I also fussy cut some stamped shells from a GKD set. Using this same set and another with a nautical theme I stamped various images over the watercoloured background. I used the wreath builder template to get this result. Popped up the seahorses and added the whole panel to a darker blue piece of CS. Added this to a small canvas that is quite thin and light which I had painted black first.

This canvas is the kind that you can make a postcard out of and I purchased a few at a local art store and then only used one piece. As always I store something and then forget I have it for a while so it was fortunate that I had both the idea and remembered I had the canvas. It looks great in the bathroom of my boat.

I had seen this technique a long time ago on StampTV and never gave it a try until earlier this year. I didn’t post it until now probably because I forgot to it but when searching other photos I found it again.

On Black CS I stamped the butterfly all over with VersaMark and then heat set them with white embossing powder.

Then I hand coloured all of them with different pencils to get this effect. I used a tiny word die here and there to finish the card.

Decided to continue with the Christmas card making so here are two more I finished today.

On the first one I wanted to use up both the card base left over from another project as well as the sparkled circles that came from the porthole I did yesterday. I had die cut 2 more small ornaments from the black and silver scrap and I added them onto the circles. Also had the bow so I added some sparkle to it and popped it on top of the last circle. Added a strip of glitter foam and the die cut sentiment done with mirror CS at the top to finish it off.

The second one was done when I tested out cutting the background using a scrap of mirror cs. It didn’t cut well so I ended up cutting it down and used washi tape to cover up the rough edges. While away on the boat I had coloured in the Poinsettia and holly using Prisma pencils and I fussy cut them out and popped them up on top. I also used a circle die for the sentiment (GKD winter flower set) but it was too big so I cut it down on 2 sides to get this label effect. Added some gems to finish.

Made for the Double D challenge Pearls, Gems or Rhinestones I started with some Silver CS for the card base.

I had this piece of flocked Black and Gray paper left over from a store bought card that I tore apart, so I cut it down to size and adhered to card front. I added a strip of glittery washi tape underneath and then a strip of small gems onto that. Using a scrap piece of black and gray I cut out the ornament and decorated it with some glitter and some gems. I popped this up over a tiny strip of washi tape. Using a sentiment from a GKD set called winter flower I stamped onto another scrap piece of CS and then fussy cut around it. I used a Sakura glitter pen over the sentiment to give it some shine and then popped it up on an angle at bottom of card base.
