For these 2 challenges I was able to make a card that fit both and it is rather nice when that happens. Global ask for winter/holiday and Paperplayers want silver, black and white. So here is one of my efforts. I may have another one later this week as I’ve gotten another one partially done. For this card I took a scrap piece of black CS and created a mask that would give me the tree shape. I taped a stencil over the opening and carefully sponged white ink through it. Then I heat embossed with additional white. I matted the black layer with some silver foil CS and then added these to the Silver card front. I also heat embossed the sentiment onto some black using my CTMH stamp, then added this piece to another bit of silver foil. I used a bit of the foil for the tree trunk and added some tiny silver stars onto the tree. I had the small silver holographic snowflakes so I scattered them around the tree for added sparkle. I had fun making this one and am very pleased with the result. The holographic snowflakes catch the light and change colour at times.

This is the last challenge of the year Thesisterhoodofcrafters.blogspot.com and hopefully my last card required for this year. Occasionally I’ve forgotten someone or receive an unexpected card that requires a little something in return, but the ones on my normal list are now finished. I can begin to clean up my craft room which is in a terrible mess at the moment. Can’t even see my desk properly anymore.

To begin this card I stamped various sentiments from 2 GKD sets randomly on some CS and then die cut it out into the circle. One of the stamps somehow got used upside down but I decided I could hide that mistake. without having to start over. I heat embossed all the sentiments and then added a few snowflakes and heat embossed those as well. After adding a foam circle on the back I glued it to the silver card front. Then I die cut the dove in the mirror CS and attached him as shown. A few small gems here and there, then the pretty bow to cover up my booboo and I am happy with this card. My neighbor who is 93 will love it and no doubt will phone me to say so and to say how sorry she is that she can’t reciprocate with a card this year.

I am down to making the last three Christmas cards and I chose to do another of the side folds I had done weeks ago. Using some PP from my Reminisce package and some dark gray CS I cut and scored the card and then added the PP. I notched the top and bottom of the side part and tied some gold twine around it. Using a GKD die set I cut a small stitched frame rectangle out of gold foil and adhered onto main section. From the same set I cut some candle pieces in different scrap papers and added the flames in a different gold foil. Then I die cut the foliage using Sissix dies and glued it strategically at the bottom of the frame and candles. I added some berries and a sentiment (from CTMH) that I had stamped a while ago and not used and to which I added some gold sparkle with a pen.

I am uncertain of how to classify the style as it fits several on the Card Concept list, but to me it is more Shabby, Chic and vintage but could also fit into the Mixed Media as well. In addition it could fit the Freestyle collage. I leave it to you to decide which you believe it fits best. It does look much better in reality than on the photo.

This card is for the Sweet Stampin Challenge this week. To use up some scrap CS I die cut circles of both sparkly and patterned pieces and then die cut one white circle for the sentiment. I edged the white circle with a gold pen. Using a GKD stamp set I stamped the packages, coloured them with both pencils and gelly roll pens and then fussy cut them. I popped them up at the bottom and added a few gems to the heat embossed sentiment piece. Quick and easy to complete.

Double Trouble wants Christmas with a die cut and Global Design was a sketch challenge so I managed to combine them into this one card. PP is from a paper pack by Reminisce. I used a tag shape instead of an oval and added some scrap die cuts to decorate the die cut tag. Added some foil snowflakes and a couple of gold stars along with the ribbon/bow for added interest. I managed to involve the twist with PP and the ribbon. The sentiment was heat embossed and is from a KaiserCraft set I got last year. Tags are definitely not my thing and I’m not sure I like this.

This card fits 2 challenges so I’m entering it into the Paper Players and the Modsquad this week. The Modsquad in particular wanted white embossing and only one other colour so I chose Plum Punch from GKD as my base. The Paper Players require anything festive. Stamps used are from a Hero Arts set and I added a few embellishments to the tree with pearls and a couple of other gems above it. Even when I use an anti static bag, I still somehow get bits of powder in places I don’t want but overall I’m happy with this card.

Having seen several cards shaped like these on Pinterest, I decided to try my own version. The first one I stamped and coloured (both sides exactly the same) and the next 2 I did using decoupage. My cousin had brought me the printed images some time in the past and I had only used one of two of them. Found the rest yesterday in a file and decided to use a few more. Takes time to cut out the pieces and decide what should be popped up into the 3D effect and I only have patience to do a few at a time. The stamped card is my favorite of the 3 while the second card, but first attempt at the decoupage, I almost ruined because I put the panels on to the stand upside down. Rather than take them off and start over I cut the stand in half and glued the top part together so it isn’t as straight as it should be. The camera picks up the imperfections that the naked eye tends not to notice. On the last one I used a die cut snowflake piece that I didn’t use on another design and I only added to the one side of the stand.

This is my second try in designing a card for this challenge. Somehow during the first one I managed to forget to add PP so I took a leaf out of one of my stampin buddies book and wrote down the requirements ticking them off as I went. I think I managed it this time around. I found some PP that looked a bit like snowflakes coming down and cut it into the different length strips. Before adhering them I inked the bottoms with a bit of green then glued them just at the top of the card front. The die cuts are from a Sissix set of 4 foliage dies and I cut them out of a paint chip, and different scrap pieces of green CS. The holly piece I also embossed before removing it from the die. When I was happy with the layout I glued them together and then added to the strips. I stamped the greeting below using a CTMH stamp and went over it with a glitter pen. Using some snowflake fallouts from a scene die I added them to the card front and glittered them after they were dry. The berries were from a hole punch. I added the ribbon/twine at the top and got the bow tied after a struggle. Honestly I wonder sometimes if my hands work at all, as I can barely feel the twine or ribbon when I’m trying to tie a bow. My hubby likes this card – he said it looks very realistic.

At our local art supply store, I found this stencil and I just had to have it. I went into the store to return a defective pen and came out with the replacement plus the stencil. I decided to try using the Nuvo Glimmer paste for my first try and this is the result. It was so striking that at first I wasn’t sure how to use it. In the end I used a scrap silver frame piece around it and I heat embossed the GKD sentiment adhered it in the middle and edged it in a bit more silver. The corners of my frame looked messy so I covered them with some tiny die cuts in a white sparkle and then added the dove which is on a wobbly so it stands out quite a bit. I’m looking forward to using this stencil with inks on my next try. This fits the basic challenge at Double Trouble but my next card will fit both the basic and the twisted parts of the challenge.
