favourite colour

The latest challenge at Seize the Birthday #310-Use Your Favorite Color. My favourite colour is almost always purple in any variation and I like it paired with yellow and or gold. I wasn’t too sure of what I might make for the challenge so decided to just play around with a few scraps and some dies. This card is the result of playing. I had no real idea in my head, except that I wanted it simple. My card front is from GKD, the dies used are from Essentials Mixed edge rectangle layering basics and a heart shape from Hero Arts infinity dies. I cannot remember which stamp set the sentiment is from as it was one of several I had in my stash of oddments although I suspect it is from a dollar store stamp set. The purple paper is from StampinUP and was sitting around on my desk for several weeks. I didn’t like the patterned side but I love the variation in tone on the purple side. The yellow is what I have in my stash. I cut another heart from gold which I then cut in half and added behind the purple one to give an edge to it. This was then popped up with some foam tape and added after I had glued the rectangles in place.

This is quite a simple card, and I like how it turned out. Using this die set was also a good idea as I’ve had it for some time and not used it nearly enough. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your time and any comments you may leave.

  4. No surprise here that your favorite color is Lavender. I always feel accomplished when I can make a cute card with supplies from my desk top. Maybe there should be a challenge like that? Lol Congrats on your SPG with us for the rest of the year. Glad that you joined us in the fun at Seize the Birthday challenge.

  7. Your bits and pieces always turn into an awesome card. Love the scalloped edges on all the pieces and of course your trademark purples. It looks great paired with the yellow not sure if I would have thought of pairing those together.

    1. Thanks Gayle. I saw a fashion exhibition at an art gallery a few years ago. The designer had paired the fabrics of yellow and purple into a stunning dress.
