Out of this World

Using an old wood block heart stamp I stamped the background hearts very lightly. After adding the scrap of PP I popped up the world die cut. The sentiment is from an Altenew set called To the Moon and the little bunnies are from Divinity Designs called Somebunny. I added colour to them with inktense pencils, die cut and then popped them on top. A very simple and quick card.

Hello My Friend

SSC223

A few days ago I messed up some stamping with a SSS set I’ve just purchased called Be Kind . I put it to one side in case I could redeem it in some way and today managed to do just that. As I had accidentally doubled up the original stamped image I decided to stamp a second one and deliberately double it up by moving the cs fractionally, on purpose. Then I added a hint of colour with my inktense pencils and die cut both pieces. Using the heron stamp (don’t know the make) I coloured in the heron and fussy cut it out. I popped that up on top of the leaves. For the background I chose a pp (very old stash) and dry embossed with a Darice Cattails folder. I backed that with a red border and added it to the pink card front. Stamped Hello with a new Divinity Design set called Fur-ever Friends. I had a challenging time getting the colours for this, as with no names to go by, it was that much harder to pick the right ones.

Some Bunny …

Global Design Project #225

Although this could be used as a Valentine card it wasn’t intended as one. I just thought it would be nice to have something like this on hand and I liked the idea of using the challenge colours this way.

I took a strip of pp and cut into smaller strips then glued them to card front. After stamping the Divinity Design image and sentiment I coloured it with my Inktense pencils keeping to the colour scheme. It is a cute image and sentiment.

Butterfly Sympathy

#520 – Photo Inspiration Week
PP475 – A Sketch Challenge

I figured if I have to make sympathy cards, I may as well ensure that one of them at least fit a challenge. In this case I managed to make it fit two one at JUGS and one at PaperPlayers. I started with the sketch and an idea and then incorporated some of the colours and the butterflies from the JUGS photo. I realize from the photo that it is hard to see the detail although in RL it is quite obvious. Firstly I stamped two sets of leaves from a new SSS set using Victorian Velvet Distress Ink over which I heat embossed in pink. I did this a couple of times to get a better impression but it is quite a pale effect on the kraft cs. Then I stamped the sentiment in black and when dry went over it with a Sakura jelly roll glitter pen. Using some cs in the pink and purple I went over it with the soft shine of my rose gold shimmer stick. Once that was dry I stamped the butterflies using wilted violet distress ink and stamps from a StampinUp set called Kinda Electic. I like these butterflies quite a lot, but the detail they give isn’t as apparent on the photo. After fussy cutting them out I added them as shown to the front panel. After adding a thin black border I adhered it all to the card front. With a little bit of bling and a small amount of perfect pearl onto the leaves there is a subtle shimmer to the whole card. Wish I could take photos of the shimmer. Hubby probably could but I’d be waiting at least a week for him to actually get to and I’m not willing to wait.

I also did this one but not for any challenges and it is dry embossed with the tiny die cut butterflies from SSS. The following one is in a larger format so my hubby can get all the club members to sign it.

I used a spotlight technique and some masking on this one and am pleased with the result. The heat embossing on this one is almost a coppery colour and I really like the powder. It is a new one and I hadn’t used it until this card. Stamp sets are from CTMH.

Kind of a Valentine

Besotted With Our Pets
Animal Stamps Inky

Not having much crafting time this month and the fact that we are going to be away quite soon has meant I’m not doing Valentines cards this year. That said I received my new Bestie stamp set from SSS and another critter set from Divinity Designs that included this Triple step die along with a paper pack and this card was born.

In a few moments I have the sad task of creating Sympathy cards as my uncle passed away 2 days ago and just a few moments ago we learned that a well loved member from hubby’s photo group succumbed to his very serious illness as of yesterday night. It has left us a bit shell shocked if I’m honest so I’m trying to cheer myself up by posting this card.

When doing this card late yesterday afternoon, I first cut the step card base and then used pp from the Divinity designs stack and cut the add on’s. I like this pp because it isn’t too busy and adds to, rather than dominating the rest. The rest are all from SSS and I find these are really cute and fun images. All were coloured with my inktense pencils used very lightly to get the more pastel shades and I added the red hearts after colouring with a red glitter pen.

Cool Chick

PP474 – A Clean-and-Simple Challenge from Laurie
The inside snarky saying

This cheeky card just wouldn’t let me ignore it so I made it. Using a template I’ve had for a long time I traced and fussy cut the corset image first. Using a different colour for the collar I popped it up for some dimension. And I also popped up the entire corset with pop dots. I hand wrote the Cool Chick on the white waist parts and used a border punch to give some lace at the bottom. The background pp was found on line and is actually wrapping paper. I saw this snarky saying a long time ago and saved it. I used my computer to print it out. I couldn’t resist it and I took a leave out of our stampin buddy Gerry’s book to do some snark.

Butterflies Galore

Just Us Girls #519 – Color Week

I started this card – got so far and realized I had gone about it a bit backwards. Nevertheless the end result is still okay and works. Initially I stenciled the side butterflies, using a stencil gifted by a loved stamp buddy. I used Distress Oxides in Dusty Concord, festive berries and Victorian Velvet to get a slight ombre look. Once this was done I decided that some dry embossing was required (should have done this first) so I used a folder by Darice as close to the other side of the stenciled part as possible. It still needed something so I used a couple of butterfly dies to add on as shown. I am not adding a sentiment as yet as I think this card will work for several things and will wait until the right occasion shows itself.

Rainbow stripes

 CASE the Designer

First I used a die that makes stripes out of a scrap piece so that I could use it as a stencil. I proceeded to ink each stripe in the rainbow colours. Then I cut down the result to make a tidy and smaller panel. My inking left a lot to be desired on the edges. A dear friend had given me a small kit last year that included punch out words. I decided to use them as shown just because I like the words. Added the two hearts left over from another project. Adhered this all to some sparkle card stock and then onto the card front. Added a strip of bling at the bottom.

Hearts and Flowers

CAS Mix Up January 2020 Challenge

I chose another digi stamp I’ve had for a long time, probably a freebie found on Pinterest but I’m not sure. I coloured it with a mix of Ink Pencils and some Sakura sparkle pens. I hand cut the image on one side and also around the heart center so it is partially cut but not with a die. (Hopefully it still qualifies for the challenge.) I added foam tape to the back to pop it up from the card front. I used a sentiment from Gina K called Wreath Builder and heat set it with Cosmic Shimmer powder.

Fashionista

Using a digi stamp I won a long time ago and forget who by, I created a fashion card for Paper Players.

CLEAN AND SIMPLE

I found the background PP on the internet and after cutting it to size used a gold pen around the edges. After colouring in the digi stamp image using my new Derwent Inktense pencils I fussy cut it out and mounted some foam to the back so I could pop it up. I also added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze to the beads, eye and beak for some additional dimension. The sentiment is from Gina K set called border bling. It seemed the perfect sentiment for this challenge and card.
